Multiple Stage Cementing Collar
IRI’s Stage Collars are used in applications where high hydrostatic pressures could fracture formations during cementing operations. The Stage Cementing Collar provides a means of opening and closing ports for cement displacement and positive containment of the cement after displacement. After running the casing to depth, the first stage is cemented normally. Once the first stage is complete an opening cone is dropped (Mechanical Tool) and lands on the seat of the Stage Collar, the casing string is pressured to shift the tool open. Cement is pumped per customer program, cement is displaced with the closing plug, lands on seat, pressure is applied to the casing string and the sleeve shifts to the closed position. Cementing operations are now complete.
